Yellow Ribbon Campaign

What is it?

History of the Yellow Ribbon

The Yellow Ribbon Campaign promotes awareness and provides support to those who put their lives at risk to protect our freedom and those of others.

The campaign led by Darlene Loucks and Kathy Bulger collect donations which are used to send our military personnel who are serving overseas boxes which include, books, puzzles, toiletries, foot powder, sunscree, food and a variety of goodies. Boxes are prepared and packaged in Darlene's basement and then shipped to CFB Trenton for delivery overseas.

Soldiers receiving the boxes share them with their fellow soldiers as well as the children in Afghanistan.

Donation cans can be found all over the Kawarthas. Donors are provided with a yellow lapelle ribbon.
